ภูมิทัศน์วัฒนธรรมชุมชน และสถาปัตยกรรมพื้นถิ่นชุมชน ชิรากาวาโก-โกคายามะ : คุณค่าและแนวทางอนุรักษ์ / The Cultural Landscape and Vernacular Architecture of Shirakawago and Gokayama Villages: Value and Concept in Conservation

Abstract

“ภูมิทัศน์วัฒนธรรม” แสดงให้เห็นถึงการปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่าง
มนุษย์และสภาพแวดล้อมทางธรรมชาติ ได้สะท้อนถึงเทคนิควิธีการ
เฉพาะตัวของการใช้ประโยชน์ที่ดินร่วมสมัยได้อย่างดี การคุ้มครอง
ภูมิทัศน์ทางวัฒนธรรมดังกล่าวจะนำาไปสู่การพัฒนาเทคนิควีธีการร่วม
สมัยของการใช้ที่ดินอย่างยั่งยืน และสามารถรักษาหรือเพิ่มคุณค่าทาง
ธรรมชาติในภูมิทัศน์
การศึกษากรณีตัวอย่างของหมู่บ้านและสถาปัตยกรรมพื้นถิ่นใน
ชุมชนชิรากาวาโก-โกคายามะ เป็นตัวอย่างอันโดดเด่นของการตั้งถิ่นฐาน
ของมนุษย์แบบดั้งเดิมที่รู้จักปรับตัวให้เข้ากับสภาพแวดล้อม สังคม และ
เศรษฐกิจได้อย่างสมบูรณ์แบบ ซึ่งได้ประสบความสำาเร็จในการอยู่รอด
จากความเปลี่ยนแปลงทางทางเศรษฐกิจอย่างรุนแรงในสังคมญี่ปุ่นในช่วง
ครึ่งศตวรรษที่ผ่านมา อีกทั้งการออกแบบอาคารบ้านเรือนที่เกิดจากระบบ
และฝีมือเชิงช่างอันโดดเด่น ซึ่งก่อรูปจากความสัมพันธ์ของคนในหมู่บ้าน
จนออกมาเป็นงานสถาปัตยกรรมที่มีคุณค่าหาที่เปรียบไม่ได้ แม้ว่าคุณค่าที่
ถูกขึ้นทะเบียนไว้ในบัญชีรายชื่อมรดกโลกของหมู่บ้านประวัติศาสตร์แห่งนี้
จะเน้นในเรื่องของการตั้งถิ่นฐานและอาคารสถาปัตยกรรมที่สอดคล้อง
กับสภาพแวดล้อม แต่คุณค่าหนึ่งที่ไม่อาจละเลยได้คือความเป็นภูมิทัศน์
วัฒนธรรมทางประวัติศาสตร์ที่เป็นฐานรากที่สำาคัญในการเชื่อมต่อและ
โยงใยให้เกิดวัฒนธรรมและวิถีชิวิตของผู้คนในพื้นที่ในวันนี้


The “cultural landscape” demonstrates the interaction
of man and nature. This reflects a specific contemporary use of
land and because of this conservation of cultural landscapes may
lead to or generate contemporary techniques for sustainable
land use and the enhancement of natural values in-situ.
This paper explores the salient features of cultural
conservation with regard to a case study of the World Heritage
site of Shirakawago-gokayama. This is an outstanding example
of a traditional settlement which has adapted very well to the
changes in Japan which have occurred over the past half-century,
in particular to changes in the environment, society and
economy. In addition, its architecture displays unequaled
design values, which arise from the unique craftsmanship
rooted in villagers’ relationships. Although the universal values
that are inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage list focus
principally on traditional settlements and architectural buildings
and their appropriateness for the local environment, one value
which cannot be ignored operates with regard to the foundations
of historic cultural landscapes that connect to and unite the
cultures and lifestyles of local people in the contemporary
era.
